Bobby lived here with his friend, Dick Behrke, while attending Hunter College. This is the location where the infamous "dish" incident took place. It's a lovely street, and we stood outside what had been Bobby's front door for a long while, reveling in the knowledge that we were on the street where he lived. At one point, an upstairs neighbor came out to see what all the fuss was about. Several fingers pointed to the door below her window, and several voices cried
out in unison, "Bobby Darin lived there!"

She was surprised and seemed genuinely pleased to know that. Who wouldn't be? We said we hoped it was alright to take pictures of the front of her apartment and she cheerfully said, "snap away!" And, of course, snap we did!
