Another Surprise!
March 26, 2006—Hello, Daringuys and Daringals!!! What a beautiful day it is today!
Sunday, around 3:00 p.m., as I was walking through the airport before my shift, I saw, walking toward me, a familiar face. We made eye contact.
Without much thought, I blurted out, "I love you!"
He paused, smiled at me, rather surprised at my outburst. I have a feeling he can travel almost anywhere without being recognized by the majority of people.
I felt an opportunity here! I immediately turned around and started walking along beside him in the direction he was going. I assume he was leaving the airport.
I said, "Excuse me, may I ask you a question?
He turned, looked at me, and nodded.
"What do you think of Bobby Darin?"
His quick response was, "He was awesome, wasn't he?"
I replied, "Yes, he is!"
My question caught him off guard. I told him that I would be sharing his response on a Bobby Darin web site. He smiled, and I turned around and headed back in the opposite direction.
This brief encounter took all of 30 seconds. I'll just bet my question gave him something to think about for the next few minutes, or it might hit him later. Anyway, that's the way, uh huh, uh huh, I like it . . . Hit 'em and leave 'em with a Darin thought.
And yes, you guessed correctly, he was the one, the only, Harry Casey of KC and the Sunshine Band!!!!!
